a 21st century modernisation

Polo ( Chovgan ) originated in Persia / Iran more than 2600 years ago , sometimes with more than one hundred horsemen on the field of play … at the time it was described as “ being close to war “ not much has changed in two thousand six hundred years, just fewer players in the arena.

 HISTORIC POLO

275 years ago the Ladies of Manipur India were considered to be exceptional player’s of the sport Sagol Kangjei and the wooden ball was called pulu. Polo was the name  given by the British cavalry who adopted the sport and brought it to the UK in the nineteenth century  … Polo and Arena Polo is now played in more than one hundred countries from the USA to the UAE from China to Chile..

Sport of Kings and King of sports.

Argentina's world champion Adolfo Cambiaso in conversation with another famous Polo player ....

Social inclusion, no longer a sport solely for the noble and the wealthy.

The new game dramatically reduces the cost for teams and competitors.

Some of the worlds best polo players originate from Agentinian grasslands, the great but certainly not wealthy, Gauchos.

Gender Leveller

There is an arena polo ladies only game, however the mixed game gathers momentum in many countries with men and women playing on a level polo arena.

Many consider women have an advantage due to a closer more sensitive bond with the horse/ pony gained in training (and they don’t carry the heavy egos that burden many male riders!  Maggi K).

Neku Atawodi, the top international Polo player.

”the arena game enables a significant reduction of players expenses “     Greg Gilbert

Polo arena: Concentrates the action into an all weather area approximately the size of a soccer / football field.
